Background and current research

Sam is originally from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, but has called Calgary, Alberta home for the last 12 years. She joined the Department of Geography in January 2017 after working for eight years in industry as a petroleum geologist. Her current research focuses on carbon cycling, chemical oceanography, and estuarine and fluvial biogeochemical processes in the Canadian Arctic.
