The Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Calgary requires that incoming graduate students have completed a four-year undergraduate degree, with a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.

The undergraduate degree may be from a discipline other than Geography, however, it is required that applicants have some practical and theoretical experience with GIS, remote sensing, or spatial statistics. If you do not have any courses in GIS or employment experience with the above mentioned topics, we would suggest you take at least a fundamentals/introductory course before applying to the program. Please refer to the Faculty of Graduate Studies for further details.
