Research Summary

My research interests involve the integrated use of multiple geomatics techniques for the purpose of mapping and change monitoring. Currently my main focus is on the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) for environmental monitoring. I believe that the fusion of UAV and ground-based photogrammetry is extremely powerful, and provides researchers with the capability of extracting new levels of information for many commonly-occurring processes. I used a combination of these two techniques during my PhD to investigate surface changes for an arctic glacier. For my future research I would like to continue in this direction, with long-term projects which look at the the use of integrating data from multiple sources to investigate rapidly-changing natural environments.
